This year, Anju Modi presents her collection DEVI. The collection takes inspiration from some of the most vivid characters inked throughout the Bengali literature and those that have been cinematically brought to life.
Like always her garments were so much more than just garments, art, stories infact. Layers upon layers of intricacy so thoughtfully brought together. One look and you know that not just anybody is capable of such craftsmanship. Anju Modi’s shows always leave me in complete awe and love with her.
When you know its JJ Vallaya, you know its going to be EXTRAVAGANT. Actually in this case collections by ALL the designers will be extravagant, it being ‘Couture Week’ and what not. But still, JJ Vallaya was one show I was really looking forward to. And it delivered…maybe a little too much, but thats what couture is all about. Crazy amount of detailing on traditional Indian silhouettes – lehengas, sherwanis, anarkalis and just a bit of unwanted experimentation with the traditional silhouettes which could have been avoidede. Nevertheless, here are glimpses from the show.
The PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 which will be held from August 8 – 12, 2012 at The Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi has recently announced that in order to bring out the ‘Indian’ element of the Couture Week, FDCI has made a conscious choice to showcase most of the collections through top Indian models. Out of the 32 high profile models who are ready to scorch the ramp this season, 25 are Indian models and the remaining are of foreign origin.
