After the conclusion of the recent ‘Wedding Season’, yes, that IS a real thing in India, I decided to share some looks that I myself adopted while attending a couple of weddings this season. There are the outfits, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. The look comprises of so much more – the make-up, the jewelry and even the perfume you pick out. So here is the complete dig.
I know this post has been a bit delayed but nonetheless, I had to write about it because I had all these fabulous photographs lying with me. Couldn’t let them go to waste! Following are images from Nandita Mahtani’s show at the recently concluded Delhi leg of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2012.
It was a very specific evening/cocktails dressy collection with the scales tipping slightly towards bling but it never looked in-you-face garish. Elegantly done.
It was by chance that I got to know Dhruv Kapur , at the recently concluded Delhi Couture Week, where he (very boldly might I add) and his sister wore solid white dresses from his label DRVV, his being backless. I was instantly drawn. So I went up to him, explained what I did, asked him if he was interested…and the rest is history.
Presenting #Stylaned featuring DRVV by Dhruv Kapur – Collection ‘HOWARD‘
Manish Arora knows how to put up a show and boy does he know it right! And since he was showing in the Capital after a gap of over three years it was literally a high octane, full power blast of a show. Energy was ripping through everyone! While I have very few words to express my sheer enthusiasm I do have a truckload of photographs from the show. It wasn’t easy trying to pick out the few that got to come up on the blog. Nevertheless, here they are.
This year, Anju Modi presents her collection DEVI. The collection takes inspiration from some of the most vivid characters inked throughout the Bengali literature and those that have been cinematically brought to life.
Like always her garments were so much more than just garments, art, stories infact. Layers upon layers of intricacy so thoughtfully brought together. One look and you know that not just anybody is capable of such craftsmanship. Anju Modi’s shows always leave me in complete awe and love with her.
So I had just joined Klout very recently that they told me I was eligible for one of their perks! Getting 50 business cards for myself from MOO! Awesome news! The very same day I claimed the perk, uploaded about 30 photographs that I wanted to be printed at the back of the cards, gave my information, paid for the shipment charges and voila! I was set!
It was definitely a good feeling to be a part of the celebrations of the launch of ‘Lifestyle Pakistan’ – a fashion, music and food extravaganza from Pakistan at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. To become a part of Pakistani traditional design, not very different from our own, but you could feel those small hints of deviation from our own sensibilities, not only in the garments and embroideries and patterns but also ofcourse the gorgeous food!
It was a close gathering of fine people from the fashion fraternity and the employees of Lecoanet Hemant for the showcasing of their Summer 2012 Collection. People were mingling, sipping on wine, eating some cheese when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, quite like a ‘fLashmob’ but not quite either…women…wearing the new collection, walked into the foyer area. Women with real bodies and real faces and real personalities. Right from Lecoanet Hemant’s employees to designers, entrepreneurs and more, women from all walks of life showcased the collection in what was a brilliant and id say bold concept. I could see Hemant written all over this idea. And that is why I have so much respect for the guy.
It was a great evening with girls, dress-up, make-up, fashion tips and a lot more. A special workshop where the chicas from Marie Claire shared fabulous fashion tips for spring, wardrobe ideas and styling advice at the MANGO store all ripe with their New Spring Summer Collection. Their was a fine guestlist and even stylist Pernia Qureshi shared 3 chic looks exclusively from MANGO’s new collection and ideas on how to rock them!
The evening was concluded with an array of gorgeous sweet treats for the guests and all the guests were given an exclusive discount on the new collection just for that evening. All in all fun, fabulous and très chic.
