Mandap PopUp
Over this weekend I visited The Mandap Popup 3.0 at Four Points by Sheraton, New Delhi for the first time. A showcase, exclusively for Mandap designs sounded like such an exciting concept. A Mandap is a separate platform area setup temporarily at an Indian wedding meant especially for the wedding and other related ceremonies. It usually has the sacred fire burning at the centre around which the bride and groom and their families sit for the ceremonies.
Now there are plenty of exhibitions that happen for other wedding shopping for clothes, jewelry, etc but this was the first time I got to know of a place that you can head to for exploring different types of Mandap designs and I knew it would be a very pretty setup because Mandaps are usually so gorgeous! And I was right! I felt like such an excited monkey hopping from one Mandap to the other to click photographs. There were some lovely, elaborate Mandaps and not just the traditional kind but also some meant for modern and chic brides and grooms. I was especially a fan of the few that were built on a forest/jungle theme with lots of greenery and tropical feels. Sharing some photographs for you below. Hope you like them!
