Poetree Sarovar Portico – Thekkady, Kerala
This post has been a long time coming! Completely forgot about sharing the second half of my Kerala trip with you guys! The first was in the backwaters of Kerala in Vayalar and this here was in the hills of Kerala, in Thekaddy. We stayed at the Poetree Sarovar Portico which is nestled at the edge of a hill with stunning views of the hills and sunsets that you’d never want to miss!
Lush greenery at every corner, the hotel has cultivated an enormous variety of plants, flowers and fruits all around the property grounds – I have never seen so many different types of Bamboo trees all in one place before! They have a lovely pool to spend your hot days in and a spa that gives super relaxing Ayurvedic treatments based on your needs. But, my favorite part of our entire stay here was the FOOD! And by food I mean the local cuisine that they prepare – When you’re in Kerala please don’t waste you time on eating things like pancakes and roti – try the local food because you won’t find a better version of it anywhere else in the world. Right from there mouth watering beef stew to dry beef, fish delicacies wrapped in banana leaves, aapams that melt in your mouth – there is almost nothing we left un-tasted here at Poetree Sarovar Portico. It was incredible!
