Nubia Z11 miniS – Travel Story
A snappy new smartphone – The Nubia Z11 miniS has launched in India today and I can finally share my experience with the device – I had carried it with me to my recent road-trip in Rajasthan, discovering Jaisalmer & Bikaner and have only been able to share sneak peeks until now! Today I can show you all the amazing photographs I took using this feature-packed smartphone while I used it as a replacement for my usual DLSR – heck I even did a quick outfit shoot with the device and it came out great! Great enough to share right here on the blog!
A quick introduction to the Nubia Z11 miniS and my favorite features of the smartphone:
The body is 158 gms and comes in two colors – khaki grey & moon gold. I went for the khaki grey and it compliments any outfit.
It clicks beautiful selfies with an impressive depth of field so your face doesn’t end up looking like a pasty flat surface. Does rather well in low light as well. The best selfies are, in my opinion, clicked in direct sunlight. But this one was clicked in the shade and looks smashing. The selfie camera is an impressive 13-megapixel one, built with the SONY IMX258 Exmor RS sensor.
This selfie has been clicked in direct sunlight with no makeup on so the camera does a good job of smoothing the skin out smartly.
Takes clear photographs with really clear details. That is because of the 23MP rear camera with 6P Sapphire lens and F2.0 aperture which helps capture sharper details even in low light. It also has a rapid focus of 0.1 seconds! During lunch at Suryagarh, I took this photograph of my glass of beer. The focus is on the glass which is why the background appears a bit blurred. The 2nd photograph is merely a zoom in of the same photograph showing you exactly how impressive the details come out. You can even spot the tiny bubbles clearly.
Beauty Camera that allows you to play with your photographs and editing which is perfect if you’re a blogger like me and need your content to be just perfect. A lot of fun things to play around with like multiple exposure, slow shutter, star trail, trajectory, clone, a macro camera, panorama and lots more. Here are some pics I got clicked of my outfit at Narendra Bhawan using the device.
A sleek metal unibody that makes the Nubia Z11 miniS a good-looking and stylish phone, perfect for someone who loves her outfits and likes to accessorize! The metal frame is made of 6000 series Aluminum Alloy with matte and frosting surfaces. Love how the device is not too small or too big but a perfect fit in my hand. The screen is a 5.2″ full-HD screen that has a vibrant display and makes all photos pop!
Here is what this particular photograph turned out to be like.
Some more photographs I clicked using the Nubia Z11 miniS
I like how it performs in settings of high-contrast as well. It has captured the bright outdoors as well as it has captured places under the shade.
Colors are also captured with a really good balance.
Look at how well it has captured the flying birds at Suryagarh!
An impressive battery life and a multi-functional fingerprint recognition which makes me feel super high-tech. I mostly took a lot of photographs and a few videos using the device and I needed to charge it only once during my 8 day road-trip. Granted I did not use it for surfing the web or doing heavy stuff like watching youtube videos, the battery performed really well.

Thank you for the comment!
Wow These all photo’s are just amazing. Thanks to the akanksha, for bringing us so many beautiful photographs.
Thank you so much for the comment!
Would have been great if you have not added url to the buying page in every image.
Without having the option to see the image at its original size (to zoom and understand the picture details captured by this phone) the review is completed based on the author.
Hi Pranav, Thank you so much for the feedback. However since I do not provide the option of zooming in on any of the photographs across the blog for any blog post, I have kept the same format for this blog post as well. There is one zoomed in photograph that I have shared in the post for a better understanding of the details captured by the phone camera for the same purpose 🙂
Nice blog sir please thank you for sharing such a great blog.
Nubia z11 could surely be a great phone for photo clicking lovers. After viewing the photographs (well nice shots Akanksha) you clicked through this phone, the camera quality seems to be great. I am sure, this phone could do wonders and would be a good option to DSLR especially when carrying on travel trips. Thanks for the review, Akanksha & keep rocking as always 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words Nitin!
these are all photos are so goood
thank you for sharing this article of pics
Thank you so much!
Decent written review unlike the plethora of insane vocced reviews out there. Intriguing locales and nice model.
Looking at the pics, the colours have been captured nice and though the resolution is high at 23MP still the images look somewhat hollow.
Quite not DSLR type, what do you think?(contemplating buying MiniS)
It may not match a dslr quality completely but it certainly is very much lighter and easier to carry and use 🙂 and for those qualities, the images it captures are really good I’d say 🙂 Thank you so much for your comment!
Yah, tired of neck lugging mine Sony DSLR here ☺
Any ideas as to how the miniS compares to the Sony X which harbours the exact same sensors(23/13MP).
Technicalities aside, how to get to see more of (bare)you?
Well, I see no clear photos on any of the post for a 23/13 MP camera! It’s so blurry/ faded!!
pics are amazing dear
Thank you!
