Chivas 18 Alchemy

I was recently invited to the very unique and first-of-it’s-kind experience by Chivas Regal, the Chivas 18 Alchemy which brought together 5 luxury connoisseurs – luxury entrepreneur Kalyani Chawla, fashion & luxury writer Vinod Nair, President of the FDCI Sunil Sethi, designer Ashish N Soni and interior designer & curator Sussanne Khan to create a symbiotic sensorial experience for us based on the five senses of sight, sound, taste, smell and touch – all inspired by the award winning blend, Chivas 18.

The evening at The Leela Palace truly was a fascinating one, where you walked through the entire build up of experiences and discovered scintillating elements at every corner whilst being served some indulgent food and smashing Chivas 18 ofcourse!

Kalyani Chawla created a lavish setting of a feast to satiate our sense of sight. The decadent whisky dinner depicted the essence of Scottish heritage in opulent luxury.

Vinod Nair presented the sense of sound by curating the ‘Tale of Handcrafted Luxe’ – a bespoke wall of the luxurious firsts and the unique-s, narrating stories of extravagance. There were some exquisite Ferragamo heels, Judith Leiber clutches, DVF dresses, Lladro figurines and more.

Sunil Sethi tantalised our sense of taste inspired by the multiple layers of flavour in Chivas 18 and what this luxury blend means to him. He created a split-level bar, accented by a combination of wood and directional metal panels that spoke of peat’s structure and the varying layers of taste found in each amber whisky drop.

Ashish N Soni was the alchemist for the sense of smell and brilliantly explored perfume blending to create three fragrances inspired by 85 notes of Chivas 18.

Sussanne Khan deciphered the sense of touch, bringing alive the Scottish landscapes with woods, grass and moss and the rustic textures of leather and stone.

Curated by the brand and the Alchemists, the Chivas Alchemy platform brought to life the exceptional and bespoke experiences of Chivas 18 that exemplify exclusivity & luxury and most definitely carved out a unique space conveying its novelty through gentle magnificence and subdued grandeur.
