India Art Fair 2017
My Sunday was not entirely spent in bed for a change – I started off with getting a lovely hair treatment called ‘Hair Elixir’ at Kaya SKin Clinic which was an extensive facial but for the hair. You can read all the details about it on my instagram post here.
After my really relaxing and effective hair treatment I rushed to the India Art Fair at the NSIC grounds in Okhla because I hadn’t been able to catch it on the days before Sunday and this was the final day! Sharing a few of the works that were appealing to me and caught my eye. Hope you enjoy this. Were you at the art fair? What did you like?
Kyung-Ae Hur – ‘Sans Titre’, acrylic on canvas

Sunil Sigdel – ‘Decoratively Tighten with Religion’, acrylic on canvas
Tayeba Begum Lipi
In the womanhood series Tayeba Begum Lipi executes a satirical take on the word ‘womanhood’ to address the objectification of women in public spaces. The bust of the artist’s own body in razor blades includes only th efront part of her body and not the back, reducing the definition of womanhood to all that draws lecherous stares and illicit groping.

Neerja Kothari – ‘Untitled (Heel and toe)’, ink and graphite on paper
Jagannath Panda – ‘The Structure of Arid Terrain’, acrylic, fabric, glue
Manil Rohit – Weirdly Wired’, acrylic on plywood
Sandeep Jigdung – ‘Untitled’ acrylic on canvas
Olivia Fraser – Red Dawn’ 2012, screenprint on 410gsm Somerset tub size paper. Published by Grosvenor Gallery
Subodh Kerkar – ‘Kali Mirch, Lal Mirch’, fibreglass with recycled tyres & stainless steel dots
B Venkatesan – ‘Bliss 13’ Oil on canvas. Yes that’s a painting, not a photograph.
