Emirates Holidays – Dubai
Last week, Naina & I returned from our fantastic and action packed 4 day trip to Dubai with Emirates Holidays. The 4 days passed us by in the blink of an eye – we had so many wonderful experiences, roamed around so much, ate such fabulous food and visited some of the best hotels & places in Dubai. Yet we managed to cover just the tip of the scratch on the surface of this larger-than-life city called Dubai. The thing that boggles my mind the most however, is the incredible way Dubai had literally been built out of nothing but sand, sheer determination and ofcourse money. I remember saying to Naina how usually across the world and history one finds that man moves to areas with water and trees but in the case of Dubai, it’s the water and the trees that have moved where man is present, quite literally!
This post is a collection of our entire Dubai experience – the things we did, places we visited and our experiences. It is actually quite perfect as an itinerary for someone planning to visit Dubai for 4-6 days. Ofcourse another great incentive for a visit right now would be the Dubai Summer Surprises for the shopaholics. It’s a long post with lots of photographs because we did so much. Hope you have fun going through it!
Checked into The Atlantis. Naina & I had our own separate suites which were nothing less than amazing!
The lobby of the hotel has a gigantic glass sculpture.
A visit to the Lost Chambers Aquarium is a must! So many wondrous sea creatures to see and discover. My favorite to watch were the jellyfish. They even have cushions and spreads laid out for you to spend hours observing the fish pass you by.
Dinner was at Yuan, the pan-Asian restaurant at The Atlantis. No visit is complete here without trying the ‘Chocolate Rocks’ dessert.
Post dinner walk on the beach gives you great views of the hotel.
Next day we took a ride on the Palm Monorail which took us from The Atlantis along the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah. We even got to see the Atlantis in all it’s glory in the day-time.
We were driven all around Dubai courtesy Arabian Adventures and Partha has so much knowledge of Dubai that you can literally ask him any question & he will have an answer ready. Discovering Dubai with Arabian Adventures was really a highlight of our entire trip. Roamed around in this car on all 4 days.
After this we visited At The Top, Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world). With 160 storeys, we went up to At The Top SKY which is level 148. They have a classy lounge where we were served refreshments and even an outdoors observation deck if you want to venture into the heat. The views were ofcourse the best you can get.
The view of th ebuilding when you are back on solid ground.
Lunch was at The Palace Downtown Dubai. They have a lovely Arabic lunch buffet that you mustn’t miss.
After this we headed to The Dubai Mall where the girls at Bloomingdale’s Dubai had planned a pampering time for the both of us. They took us through their personal shopping experience where they had already gone through our instagram accounts and picked out looks, shoes, bags & accessories that they thought we’d love (which ofcourse we did!). Even though I don’t have a particular style that I stick to, they somehow got it and I loved the kind of stuff they had laid out for me. I went for a total Alice + Olivia look with Stella McCartney shoes. After this we were whisked away to get hair & makeup done. Then onto some yummy cupcakes at the Magnolia Bakery and finally a tour of their ‘Home Section’
A quick stopover at the St. Regis Dubai for some ‘Golden Marys’ (the more charming sister of the Bloody Mary)
Our dinner was with the Bateaux Dubai Cruises. A beautiful 2 hour long cruise over the Dubai Creek. Great food and some soothing night views of Dubai over the sparkling waters. Another beautiful experience.
Next day, after a much needed Swedish massage at the Shiqui Spa at the Atlantis, we checked out and went on to explore the Burj Al Arab, which has been voted the world’s most luxurious hotel many times over. We ate lunch at their new restaurant ‘Scape’. Co-incidentally my Missoni dress looked like a part of the interiors at Burj Al Arab and I was almost camouflaging. For lunch I ate crab burgers. Super stuff.
After lunch we checked into Taj, Dubai for the remaining of our trip. Our room was on the 34th floor and we had a fabulous view of the Burj Khalifa from it!
View of Dubai from our room at night.
Next day was breakfast at Tesoro, Taj, Dubai.
After breakfast, I caught up with some work and for lunch we headed out to Palazzo Versace Dubai for lunch at Vanitas, their Italian restaurant. Their burrata salad is something you will never be able to get out of your head. I followed that up with some absolutely stunning lamb. The hotel’s interiors are, for lack of a better word, very Versace. And because I was in a specially fun mood, I decide to wear a Versace shirt to my visit here. Yes, I’m that person!
After lunch we headed on to another very exciting experience – Heli Dubai. A 17 minute long helicopter ride over Dubai where we flew up till the tip of the Palm Jumeirah, even spotted our previous hotel Atlantis and headed back. What fun!
Also spotted the Burj Al Arab.
Next day was in room breakfast at Taj Dubai. After a few hours I went in for the 45 minute ‘Champi’ massage and I highly recommend it! Then onto packing up our stuff, checking out and flying back to India. Thank you Emirates Holidays for this amazing adventure and also the business class travel!

Dubai mission stands out on counts:-
1. Your shots are crystal clear.
2. Both hotels are exemplary in cleanliness and layout. Dishes as seen are fabulously presented.
3. Your dresses are remarkably good and carried even better.
