Pantai Melasti – Bali

Pantai really just means beach so this post is about our day at Melasti Beach right in the southern extreme of Bali. It is an absolute delight when you approach the beach, the drive is nothing less than stunning and the views of the beach are just breath-taking – no really they are. And you really need to see it yourself to believe it. I have tried to capture a bit of the essence but nothing will ever come close to experiencing a place yourself in reality.

The beach in itself is a tiny one with pockets of water in which you can chill, no waves to disturb you. As you go further inside the water there is a natural barrier of rocks which keeps the waves from reaching the shore. And even further in from there are waves you would not want to get close to unless you surf. There are a couple of local shacks selling cold beverages, Bintangs, coconut waters and tid-bits to eat. More often than not you will find a wedding shoot happening as you approach the beach because of the spectacular views that it has to offer. We did too! And naturally, I couldn’t let the opportunity go to waste so I did a quick shoot in the most stunning dress by AM:PM by Ankur & Priyanka Modi from their Spring/Summer ’16 collection.

I reckon not many people know about this beach which is why we only saw locals at the beach. No tourists! Yippie!
