Soka Beach – Bali
I always find it very rewarding to visit the lesser known spots and beaches – they tend to be less crowded (sometimes you have the entire beach to yourself) as well as cleaner and untouched with more authentic shacks and restaurants offering local cuisine – case in point Soka Beach. I mean sure when you go to Bali any and every sunseeker will end up on Seminyak beach and Kuta but these two places are again like the Baga and Calangute of Goa – full of trash. If you are visiting Bali for the first time, by all means, do spend some time here and judge for yourself but it’s definitely not my cup of tea. You tend to learn and explore so much more when you move out of the popular spots, drive off on a whim and discover your own favorite places.
Soka beach was one such discovery. It was our longest day on the two wheeler – Bali is a BIG island and you definitely cannot explore it on a bike. To test our limits (more like the limits of our butts) we set out from Seminyak and hit Soka in about 1 hour 40 minutes – OUCHIE! But that wasn’t the end. We spent some time here and moved further to an EVEN better beach – Balian Beach. This one was pure beauty but more on that in another post. But by the end of the day with more than 4 hours spent on the bike, my bum had gone off to sleep (yes that can happen – another discovery I made)
I wore a striped look from the fresh new United Colors of Benetton collection in stores because well – a beach vacation is incomplete without a striped outfit. The cotton jersey makes it super comfy and breathable and who doesn’t like crop tops and midi-skirts?!
Also managed to take some pics at Balian Beach:
Crop top + Skirt + Bag: United Colors of Benetton
Sunglasses: Vogue Eyewear
Earrings: eBay
Location: Soka Beach + Partly Balian Beach, Bali
