Canon EOS 1300D
I recently attended a Blogger’s meet hosted by Canon India where they introduced us to the newly launched DSLR Canon EOS 1300D that is a great option for beginners and bloggers who want to start using a DSLR for their work and shoots. It was an easy and comfortable afternoon at Lodi – The Garden Restaurant where I got to meet the zestful Canon India team, a few bloggers and we even got a quick masterclass in food photography by Arjun and Praerna Kartha who are a husband and wife duo of photographer (Arjun) & food stylist (Praerna)
After a short & crisp introduction to the camera by Mr. Andrew Koh, the Vice President of Consumer Imaging & Information Centre for Canon India, everybody got to play around with the Canon EOS 1300D and my favorite feature HAD to be the Wi-Fi/NFC because well, being a blogger there is nothing more I like than getting DSLR quality pics sent to my cellphone immediately where I can do a quick edit in VSCO cam and upload them on my insta profile or twitter or even my blog right there and then. What’s even more fun is that when you connect the camera to your smartphone you can actually control the camera through the phone including where to focus, adjust settings such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO speed and actually capturing the image through the phone!
The Canon EOS 1300D also has some fun and creative filters with which you can play around – soft focus, grainy black and white, toy camera effect, fish-eye effect and miniature effect. It is also equipped with a 9 point auto-focus system which allows quick auto-focusing on the subject that makes it a good camera to carry to events when you hav to cover them on the blog etc.
I am also extremely impressed with the competitive pricing of the camera. ₹ 29,995/- includes the EF-S 18-55 IS II kit lens and the double zoom variant, that includes the EF-S 18-55 IS II & EF-S 55-250 IS II lenses, is priced at ₹ 38,995/-
All other detailed specifications of the camera are avialble on the Canon India website. You can check them out Here.
For bloggers who have been using point and shoot digicams for their blog work until now and are interested in taking a step up towards far better quality photographs and blog content should definitely give this camera a shot since it won’t really break the bank either. Here are some photographs from the blogger’s meet.

Best camera for candid shots.
Hope one day I’ll buy this camera and also find a boss like you. I always wanted to be a professional photographer but due to some family problems I couldn’t.
