Wedding Luxe

I recently had a day wedding to attend and was just not in the mood to dress up in extensive Indianwear. But, you know, it’s still a wedding, so I did have to wear something special. And I mostly happen to have Indianwear for weddings in my closet – anarkalis, lehengas – you get the idea. What I also did not have time for was to go scouting and shopping for my special outfit. Eventually my search led to me to a really simple but fantastic website – Stage3 – where I could rent fabulous designer outfits for literally a fraction of their actual costs. The BEST part about the website happens to be the curation of the outfits they have on offer. There have been a few sites that have been around working on a similar model but Stage3 has lovely taste. No matter what outfit you pick to rent and wear, it will be special, stylish, great looking and ofcourse ‘designer’. The rest of the model is quite simple – you just head on to the site and everything is self-explanatory.

So I quickly selected a brilliantly on-point outfit – a Sabyasachi Mukherjee ensemble – a luscious red bandhgala type full length embroidered jacket in silk. Under this I wore my own black cami and wide pants and it looked so good! No Indianwear drama and I was comfy and looking sharp the whole day – the wedding and reception were combined so it was a long day mind you. I paired the look with some vintage Kashmiri jewelry that I took from my mom and a Ritu Kumar clutch and simple black heels. What do you think of this look? The jacket could have just as easily been worn with a skirt as well I think.
