Christmas Cheer
There is literally no other time in the year quite like Christmas time. I even get the feeling sometimes that it may have gotten bigger than Diwali in the past few years but that could just be me. If so, it has probably got to do with the waves of western influence and commercialization. But that’s not what this post is about. This post is about happily giving in to the cheer of Christmas. It is definitely the time of the year when my chocolate consumption spikes much to the dismay of my skin. Cookies, candy, cakes, hot cocoa, coffees and more cake! I start looking at recipes for chicken roasts and fudgy cookies on pinterest because that’s only what you’ll find along with shiny happy DIYs, party makeup tutorials and party dressing – and I embrace it all with open arms!
With the New Year closing in, I also have to start thinking about what I want to do next year. I don’t really make resolutions because that just sounds a little lame and probably encourages you to procrastinate. Rather, I write down a list of things I’d like to have accomplished. I even cut out pictures from magazines and stick those too – places I’d like to plan my trips to, changes in diet and health, new habits I’d like to adopt. I know it’s cheesy but I also write down how much money I’d like to have in my bank account by the end of the year haahaa! I’m cooky that way.
Infact I am not taking on any new work after this post goes live till the New Year. So a typical Holiday afternoon for me would be roasting a chicken, or finding tasty treats and quiet corners in Delhi where I can enjoy a coffee and keep browsing my pinterest. The Delhi Baking Company at JW Marriott is ideal for this. Evenings are for family-time and drinks. Naina has just concocted a delicious hot spiced brandy from what I hear so I can’t wait to see her next. Outfits tend to lean toward shimmery and shiny – not in your face bling but festive nonetheless. With big, fuzzy and warm coats. Here’s an outfit and a setting that is perfect for my days right now. Hope you guys enjoy the post. I’d love to know what you want for yourselves in the new year too! Share your thoughts, leave me a comment. And have a Merry Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year! Cheers to a whole lot of success, love, ambition, health and happiness!
