Francesca Liberatore | NYFW | Spring Summer 2016

The NYFW runway show that I attended today was Francesca Liberatore at Skylight at Moynihan Station, NYC. Her collection was named ‘The Hear is the Centre’ and revolved around the different aspects a human heart can take up, not just the typical ‘romantic’ label that it gets but also other facets like obsession, desire, domination, devotion & more. Which is why the collection wasn’t your default feminine delicate stuff, it had infusions of strong silhouettes mixed with flowy silk chiffons and a few masculine details as well. There were also the literal human hearts in prints and embroideries and had been cleverly managed to not look macabre at all. I quite liked it! Colors were mostly orange, black and white.
