Current Favorites | Kama Ayurveda

One of my long time favorite organic beauty brands, Kama Ayurveda has a lot of reasons why I love it. No artificial colours. No artificial fragrance. No animal ingredients. No petrochemicals, parabens, urea, propylene glycol or sulphates and not animal-tested. You feel good using their products on your skin and hair, not just from the outside but from the inside as well. I have been using Kama Ayurveda products for the longest time now and those of you who follow me on instagram, know that their Kumkumadi Face Scrub is something I just cannot do without. However there are many more products that I use and I thought of sharing my current favorites from the brand with you on the blog today.

An idea of how I use the products, how they suit me and how my skin/hair feel after.

Kokum & Almond Body Butter:
With Organic Cold Pressed Sweet Almond Oil & Coconut Oil, there are times when I want to put this product inside my mouth rather than slather it on my skin because it has a DELICIOUS fragrance! Luxuriously velvety and moisturizing, it surprisingly doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and gets absorbed like a dream. And the skin smells like a dream after it’s application. Due to it’s intense moisturization, I tend to apply the body butter after a shower on areas that tend to get dryer than usual, like the elbows, shoulders and knees.

Vanilla Lip Balm
The vanilla lip balm has organic beeswax and is an ideal moisturizing lippy for the summers since it isn’t very heavy in texture and has a delicious subtle vanilla fragrance to it. Comes in a tiny cute jar that can be carried in the tiniest of clutches/ bags.

Amber, Ginger & Lily – Bath & Body Oil
This is a very interesting and versatile product by Kama Ayurveda. You can use it pre-bath, as a bath oil and post-bath as a moisturizing oil. My favorite way is to use it pre-shower. It is a lovely light oil that you can actually apply on your skin and head out with because it doesn’t have that heavy spa-like fragrance that most oils have and doesn’t leave that eeky-oily sheen you’d expect from an oil. There is a warm, almost intoxicating fragrance with a lot of recognizable lily in it.

Pure Mogra Water – Face & Body Mist
I use this water very extensively on my face! I love keeping the product in the refrigerator for an extra refreshing jolt to the skin. I use it after I clean my face in the morning, for a quick refreshment mid-day and before going to bed. I even spray this on my face after doing make-up for an occasion!

Rose & Jasmine Hair Cleanser
With a slight rose fragrance, this shampoo is gentle for everyday use, lathers like a charm so you don’t end up finishing the bottle in 4 uses and leaves my hair squeaky clean. And by squeaky I mean squeaky! The hair do tend to feel a bit dry after this shampoo so conditioner is an absolute must. The hair do appear to be a tad bit more shinier than usual when you use this shampoo regularly.

Rose & Jasmine Hair Conditioner
A great subtly fragrant conditioner that really helps in de-tangling the hair, this is the only conditioner that I apply directly on my scalp when I want deep conditioning. I keep it on for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off with water. Hair are happy and bouncy after this.

Rose Honey & Milk Body Polisher
Absolutely love this gentle body polisher. A gorgeous light fragrance and walnut scrub particles that leave my skin super smooth. This product does tend to get used up pretty quickly because I can’t seem to know when to stop applying it. So a good idea would be to use it on areas that need special scrubbing like the elbows, shoulders and knees.
