Of Movember & Bow Ties
What do you do when you are running super-super late for a meeting?…Evade the evergreen ‘What do I wear’ dilemma. Since the winters have officially arrived here in Delhi, I have FINALLY pulled out all my denim jeans from the cave they were in since last year’s winters. While I am ecstatic to report that I fit into them just the same, I am not yet particularly enjoying wearing them just as yet. Something about wearing loose cotton pants all of summer, your skin tends to forget what its like to get squeezed into skinny jeans and what not.
So when I literally have 2 minutes to decide & wear my outfit, I skip the deciding part and just pull out my trusty thick denims, a plain white shirt, a comfy worn-out old black jacket and to keep things just a little bit interesting, put a bow on it! Especially when its a bow tie that celebrates ‘Movember’. Don’t know what Movember is? Movember is when, for the 30 days of November, men grow out their moustaches (and now even beards) to spark conversation & raise awareness about the often ignored issues of men’s health especially prostate and testicular cancer. Its fun, the men look hotter, money gets raised and more and more people get to know about the movement. Heck, I would grow out a mo if I could, but instead I’ll just wear a bow tie which has several of them. You can join the movement too. If you’re a guy and your job allows it, grow out yours, if you’re a woman, do something like this to keep the conversation going.

And when I say men look hotter, I really mean it. Read this Buzzfeed article if you want more proof. I asked around to find men who were supporting the ‘Movember’ cause by growing their mo and the response literally came pouring in. While I have tried my best to accommodate all the people who wrote in, I may have missed out some but what matters is the cause guys so please, no hate mail if you don’t find your pic in here. Take a look at all these fabulous blokes and tell me you don’t like em better with beards?!?
