La Roche-Posay Effaclar AI
The La Roche-Posay Effaclar AI is an Intensive Acne Spot-Treatment that is another mega-awesome product that I always have on me. Yes mine is a slightly acne-troubled skin and I do have to have heavy-weight products to keep my skin in check. It is not a hormonal problem or a dietary one, its just there and I have accepted it and learnt to deal with it. Plus I rely on makeup too…as much as I don’t want too.
Back to the Effaclar AI – this magical 15ml tube is a super product that accelerates the re-absorption of an outbreak and really helps in preventing residual marks. It is fragrance-free and paraben-free and is especially gentle on irritated skin despite being such a powerful product. The Effaclar AI is less drying than the Effacar Duo in my observation. The application is different too. The Effaclar AI is meant to be applied locally only on the outbreak/acne spot.
My Experience – I usually have to deal with 3-4 acne spots in a month. While some of these are your usual pimples, easily dealt with, sometimes I get those really nasty cystic ones. Where they start with just a painful bump on the skin, don’t form a head for days, linger on along with the pain for weeks usually. Its not pretty to talk about and an agony to deal with sometimes. So when I first bought the Effaclar AI, I actually waited to get a cystic acne spot just so that I could try it out and see if it really works. I’m desperate sometimes.
So naturally I did get a nasty cystic one ofcourse. On my chin. Started out as a bump. As soon as I discovered it feeling the pain, I applied the Effaclar AI on the spot, rubbed it in gently just a bit. I did the same thing again at night before hitting the bed. In 24 hours, while the pain was still there, the size of the bump had reduced a LOT and I could feel a definitive head of the acne, which is a great sign signifying that its getting treated. FAST. The pain had only reduced a bit. I applied the product again twice the next day. By the second day, the pain had almost gone and the acne spot was not red or angry or nasty at all. Infact you could hardly tell that there was anything going on in my chin region – except for the slight pain.
If the Effaclar AI can do this to my disgusting cystic spot, I’m pretty sure it must be a miracle worker for normal pimples. In short its a MUST-Have product in my list to fight acne. And its super gentle too. Priced at ₹ 890/- for a 15ml tube from VioletBag.com, I don’t mind the cost because of the product’s efficiency. I’m guessing here – the tube should probably last me about 3 months tops.

If this is truly as effective as you say, it is definitely on my must-try list. So sick and tired of products that claim to be spot correctors but do nothing at all.
A friend has acne problem. I am going to recommend this to her.
this sounds like a powerful product and yet it does not dry out the skin…looking forward to trying this out on my crazy acne
