Swarovski | #StyleYourWayToParis
I have lately been consumed with everything Swarovski. All thanks to my participation in the #StyleYourWayToParis blogger’s contest. So much so that my personal sense of accessorising seems to be getting skewed a bit. I’m usually more of a statement accessory girl, focussing on just one in an outfit. But recently, being in direct contact with so much Swarovski sparkle I have become a bit of a convert. I’ve started to pile on my accessories a bit more than usual. Can’t say I don’t like it though. How can a girl say no to Swarovski afterall!
This blog post is the last-leg of the contest. A final outfit for us to style Swarovski accessories with complete freedom. The only limitation being the number of accessories we get to pick – 6. For the initial steps we had been given specific themes according to which we had to decide our outfits and style them with 6 Swarovski accessories each. I will share those looks with you too towards the end of this post. But first the no-holds-barred look.
While you are at it don’t forget to VOTE FOR ME HERE so that I can win this thing and go to Paris.
These are the 6 accessories I picked out for my look.
2) Bright Bracelet | ₹ 8,450/-
3) Baron Bracelet | ₹ 13,380/-
4) Begin Collar | ₹ 18,190/-
5) Brazil Collar | ₹ 14,980/-
6) Angelic Bracelet | ₹ 9,100/-
Ever since I first laid my eyes on a Swarovski accessory, I was in love. Majorly because it was shiny and sparkling, but also because each and every Swarovski piece I have come across since then is an exquisitely versatile accessory. There are so many ways each and every piece can be worn.
For this particular look I knew I would not be able to hold myself back with the sparkle, so I did not even try otherwise. I picked out 6 perfectly opulent statement pieces. 2 necklaces and 4 bracelets, all of which I wore together. Needless to say my outfit was going to be as simple as possible, hence the solid green strapless maxi dress. The expanse of bare neck and chest really lets the accessories shine in all their glory. The green matches the dress which connects the entire look together. Throw in a dark sequinned clutch and the look is clean, non-fussy and very complete in itself.
A special thank you to Cherie, Delhi for the shoot location.
The makeup for this look was also a basic black eyeliner and a moody red lip, again a versatile makeup look because it goes with most glam settings.
Talking about its versatility, these statement necklaces can also be worn as fabulous maang-tikkas – accessories women usually wear for Indian weddings.
Each and every piece in this look can be worn by itself or all together depending on your mood and how opulent you want it to go.
Now a little bit about the previous 2 looks we had to style for the on-ground contest which decided the 5 finalists. The first was a ‘Workwear’ theme and second was ‘Festive Elegance’.
For workwear I wore a striped shirt with a striped blazer and high waisted deep blue denims with black shoes. Accessories were the most basic ones I could find. Here are some detail shots of the ‘Workwear’ look:
For ‘Festive Elegance’ I chose a gorgeous embellished Ritu Kumar lehenga and paired it with a crisp white shirt so that I could have fun with my accessories and not end up looking like a Christmas tree. Statement dangler earrings, a dainty necklace that I wore as a headgear, a sparkly Swarovski clutch with matching rose gold watch bracelet and a bold ring.
And here’s a gorgeous video that the Swarovski team prepared capturing my mood at the #StyleYourWayToParis ground event. Have a looky and let me know how you like it.
What do you think of my looks? How would you style the 6 accessories I picked out and which is your favourite one of them? I would love to know!
