Estée Lauder | Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex
Eye creams/ serums are a permanent part of my skincare regime. But I do keep changing from one product to other because frankly I haven’t yet found one that suits me just the way I want it to. The main reason I include eye creams in my regime is hydration. While I have a combination-oily skin on my face , my eyes are prone to dryness. The kind of dryness which I can’t feel but will end up with me rubbing my eyes in my sleep, which is literally murder for the skin around the eyes.
Before using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex, I had been using the Clinique All About Eyes Rich cream. You can read my review of it HERE. Once that pot was over, I decided to purchase the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex because I have heard so much about it. It also happens to be more expensive than Clinique which gives it the impression of being a better product ( I know its stupid and baseless, but a very difficult mindset to break away from ). Moving on, it has been about a month and a half since I have been using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex and here is my review of it.
The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex claims to have a lot of powerful ingredients that help reduce the look of every key sign of ageing around the fragile eye area like fine lines, puffiness, dark circles, dryness and uneven skintone. It is Ophthalmologist-tested,Fragrance-free and Non-acnegenic.
Appearance:
The eye cream comes in a 15ml jar packaging and is priced at ₹ 3,600/- It should last you about 2 months and a bit more if you use it twice daily like I do. The packaging is definitely misleading because the carton makes it look like a big product and out comes only a tiny little jar with big promises for the skin around your eyes. Also the top-open jar packing doesn’t help either. For active ingredient products, I feel the best form of packaging should be a tube where you can squeeze out exactly the amount of product you want and no air goes back in. This is a tub of eye cream from which you have to dig out the product either on your finger or the spatula provided. I prefer using my ring finger since I can then apply the cream with the same on my eyes. And each time you open the entire jar, you expose the active ingredients to air which probably results in them losing their effectiveness gradually.
Texture:
The texture of the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex is probably the best part about it. A gel like, slightly opaque transparent and fragrance free cream. More luxurious and easier to apply to the eye area as compared to the Clinique All About Eyes Rich. It is non-greasy and gets completely absorbed into the skin in a matter of minutes. I dot it around my eyes (even eyelids)and then slide my ring finger to spread it across. However, since the cream is thinner, its easy to use more than you need each time which has made me use up my jar faster than I had expected.
Results:
After using this for a month and a half, twice daily, the cream is definitely a good product but absolutely not worth its price. It provides a decent amount of hydration, slightly less than Clinique All About Eyes Rich. But then the texture of Clinique is slightly heavier than this which probably makes it last longer on the skin. Since I am not looking for anti-aging effects just as yet, its hard to say if it has any effect on wrinkles (which no cream probably does, you need procedures for stuff like that). It does make the eye-area smooth and appear even. Has no effect on dark circles whatsoever (again, you need procedures for that too). The cream does help in reducing puffiness to a certain extent.
In my opinion, the Clinique All About Eyes Rich does all this just the same and hydration even a bit better and for a lot less. Clearly I’m going to be trying another Clinique offering once my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Complex is over. This product is quite over-hyped. For its price I would certainly love for it to be a lot more powerful and effective.
