Hydra Beauty Nutrition – { Chanel }

I recently received the Hydra Beauty Nutrition cream along with some yet-to-be released makeup & beauty products by Chanel. The Nourishing cream is officially targeted towards people with dry facial skin. I happen to have a combination skin which is why I was a bit sceptical to try it. But I’m glad I did. I quite like this extremely luscious & rich cream.

The Hydra Beauty Nutrition, like its name suggests is supposed to be a protective & nourishing cream containing camellia Oil (Camellia Alba PFA) & Blue Ginger PFA which offer a balance of very hydrating agents that soothe & strengthen the skin in a gentle manner. While I have used this cream for over 2 weeks now, its not something that I indulge in on a daily basis. And I say indulge because its really that indulgent. Here is my experience of using this cream.

This cream comes in a 50g top-open jar and is priced at ₹ 5000/- For someone like me who has a combination skin and uses this cream about once or maximum twice a week, the jar should easily last about 6 months or even more I suppose. Its a pearly white cream which, like all Chanel products, has an absolutely divine fragrance (leaning towards fruity notes). Since I mostly apply this cream overnight, I find the fragrance lingering even when I wake up. The jar is definitely not as heavy as the Chanel Le Lift but the packaging can definitely be made a bit more travel-friendly according to me. I tend to keep all the bulky products at home and rarely ever take them on vacations.

The Hydra Beauty Cream for dry skin is heavy in one word. Not in a bad, greasy kind of way but just really really luscious and creamy especially on a combination skin like mine. A little bit goes a really long way so you don’t need too much of it at a go. It gives a great base for massaging the cream into the skin really well. The skin seems to accept it in a good way. Meant for dry skin, I use this cream scarcely and only in the night when I want to give my skin a booster shot of hydration once a week. This cream makes a wonderful base for the Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundations which have a mattifying effect. Also, this cream would best fare during winters where it can be used as a day cream in harsh cold conditions (for combination skins). I think for dry skins this would be a fabulous daily usage cream for protection & hydration.

Since this is originally meant for dry skins, I was a bit sceptical to use it because I’m prone to nasty acne. Fortunately this has not seemed to upset my skin in any way. As a matter of fact, when I apply this cream at night, my skin wakes up very calm and satisfied. And SO soft! You could almost say that this cream acts more like a hydration masque for me because I don’t use it so often, and when I do, my skin thanks me for it. I still wouldn’t overdo it because it is after all meant for parched weak skin. I really do love the way it leaves my skin in the mornings. Its like a little jar of luxurious comfort. A definite must have for all the dry skinned people who are always complaining of unhappy & unsettled skin.
