#ChandonCelebrates

Delhi recently witnessed the launch of Chandon’s sparkling wine at LAP, Samrat Hotel. I for one was really looking forward to try this new offering from Moët & Chandon. They began producing world class sparkling wines outside of the Champagne region, under the ‘Chandon’ name. The first Chandon Estate was created in 1959 in Argentina followed by California (1973), Brazil (1973) and Australia (1986) and now in India (2013). Chandon is the first offering from Moët Hennessy India made in Nashik. Combining the centuries-old sparkling wine-making practice of “methode traditionelle” with the finest local grapes, Chandon is available in two variants: Chandon Brut and Chandon Brut Rosé. Needless to say, I tried both of them.

Here are some glimpses from the swinging party. It was a lovely setup inside as well as outside. Pretty lanterns hanging above and candle-lit tables outside and chilled Chandon available at all possible corners of the space. Kalki Koechlin also dropped in for a bit to officially launch the wine, looking fabulously chic in Dior. But more than that, the highlight of the night for me was spotting Chunky Pandey looking way WAY too dashing to be 51 or so. I was literally swooning and even managed to get a pic with him!(later on in the post). Don’t know who Chunky Pandey is? You & I will probably never be friends then.
