Jaipur | Le Méridien | Day 01
For the recently concluded Jaipur Literature Festival 2014, Naina & I were invited by Le Méridien, Jaipur to experience the entire festival and be a part of its finale event – The Writers’ Ball, hosted by Le Méridien. It had been a very long time since my last visit to Jaipur and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. It was also gonna be my first time at the Jaipur Lit Fest. So yay! Since we were there for a total of 3 days, there will be 3 posts about it spread out day-wise giving you a glimpse of our days and experience there. Here goes…
The rains had delayed the flight a bit so we made the airport our playground. These were clicked inside the ladies room.

Wearing my brand new Chanel sunglasses on the cab ride from the Jaipur Airport to Le Méridien, Jaipur.
Arrived at the hotel in about 45 minutes from the airport. What a beauty!
They welcomed us with pretty marigold garlands and a little red tikka on the forehead for good luck.
Inside the hotel. Its wonderful that the hotel is in the outskirts and there is so much greenery around.
We then headed onto our room. Room #402.
Le Méridien, being extensively involved in art, culture and cuisine has a definite atmosphere that supports these. Which is why you will find a lot of exclusive artwork on their walls and even their room key-cards. Its quite fascinating!
Inside our room turning my garland into a hippie headband.
A quick organisation of our luggage in the room. That’s all the makeup I carried on me for this trip. Basic and essential.
L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream (BB cream) | OPI Nailpaint | Mizz Nailpolish removing pads | Chanel (ss14) La Diva 44 | MAC Pink Swoon Sheertone Blush | Maybelline Colossal Kajal | MAC Lip Liner & Mascara | Chanel (ss14) Rouge Allure – 136 Mélodieuse | MAC – Diva | Clinique Superbalanced Makeup Foundation |
We then headed off to ‘Latest Recipe’, one of their restaurants for a super late lunch/supper.
Some of the food that we had ordered. Signature Éclair, Illy parfait, coconut pastry and salmon sandwiches.
Roamed around the hotel after sundown to explore a bit more.
And then headed off back to our rooms for some much needed rest for an action packed day tomorrow.
Its a lovely hotel with a lot of open space and two very distinct areas, one being more traditional, historical and regal and the other being very modern and sleek. There was much more left to be discovered of the hotel and the city. All that in the posts coming soon!
