Bloggers Lunch at Lecoanet Hemant

It was a lazy sunny afternoon when Lecoanet Hemant invited a few of us bloggers to a lovely interaction session at their studio & factory unit in Gurgaon, Haryana.

It was to create awareness of the dedication of the label towards their environmental responsibilities as well as an introduction of the Indi-Polo Collection which was also sported by the Rissala Polo Club representing India in the Polo World Cup 2011.

I was joined by Srish of Stylefashionetc, Purushu of designerpurushu and Komal of Delhifashionblogger.
Thats Komal and Srish and Hemant of Lecoanet Hemant. Purushu is missing but you’ll catch him in another pic later.

We were given a descriptive tour of the entire facility right from their sampling room to the archival room, the design studio and their manufacturing levels as well. Followed by a lunch sponsored by ‘BittooTikki’. Fancy stuff!
Along with IndiPolo T-shirt collection being displayed outside for us, there was also a display of their accessories range as well!

Thats Hemant who was so sweet and seemed even more eager than us to interact wih each other!

About IndiPoloT-shirts:
Titled ‘IndiPolo’, the eclectic sports T- Shirts by designers Lecoanet Hemant, represent the various Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Ranthambore and Jaipur. Hemant Sagar, mentions “ I was searching for a way to take the ‘Proud to be Indian’ notion forward to a supplementary level of international cool”.

Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of India, the line comprises of contemporary T-Shirts, which aims to bridge the gap between the east and the west. Combining this inspiration with the designer’s vision of high fashion has brought together an uber chic look with a twist.
Thats us in the IndiPolo Tees:

City T- Shirts priced at Rs. 3,900/- and Bharat T-shirt at 4,400/- are available at the Lecoanet Hemant flagship store at The Gallery on 13 M.G., M.G. Road, New Delhi, 011-46802289
Created in cotton mesh, the T-Shirts have inscriptions in Hindi of the various cities and are adorned with the trademark Lecoanet Hemant logo. Available in a variety of color combinations, they can be worn by men and women perfect for sports or leisure.

Their archival room was most impressive having all the past patterns of all the orders that they have undertaken since they first began! It was magnificent to see all that history in one large room!

This particular psychedelic jacket which is almost a signature piece of Lecoanet Hemant, being made since 2006 over and over again, since everyone happens to fall in love with it pretty much explains itself and the fact why it is so popular.
I happened to catch DJ Iggy (Ignatious) wearing it too!

Thats the fabric being cut at the factory and a close up of the fabric:

Someones bag in the design studio. Me likey!

Obviously I cannot resist myself when I see fabrics and trims and sequins…

The leather dept of the factory. It even had a leather dress-form! I would have stolen it if I had the resources!

I little bit about Lecoanet Hemant:
Founded in 1978 in Paris, Lecoanet Hemant are a traditional Haute Couture house creating men and women wear par excellence where garments are unique pieces of art, hand made to perfection abiding the principles of a secular manufacturing tradition. Lecoanet Hemant brought together a unique design sensibility as they earned their laurels at the prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and thenstarted together their couture label. As they made a name within a worldly urban chic clientele, one of their first milestones was opening an atelier in the heart of Paris – over Rue Faubourg St Honore. The fashion industry soonthereafter honored the designer duo’s work by awarding them the Golden Thimble (Le De d’Or) in 1994, the only accolade for Haute Couture. To meet the needs of a growing international clientele, the pioneering brand moved to New Delhi in 2002 to build an “atelier”, uncompromising on strict traditions, yet completely in line with today’s cutting-edge technology. This combination of innovation and tradition is reflected in Lecoanet Hemant’s collections, which are a rare alliance of East and West, a lasting continuation of yesterday and tomorrow. The team’s latest brainchild is LH Cares, a new line of ayurvedic clothing, made of organic cotton and permeated with special herbs and oils designed to restore balance and boost the immune system.
